Google Workspace setup, support and migration

Not every office runs on Microsoft. If your business lives in Gmail, Drive and Google Meet, we support it properly: secure admin settings, shared drives that outlast the people who made them, and help when staff get stuck. If you are moving between platforms, we plan that too.

Google Workspace setup, support & migration for small and medium businesses

Google Workspace is often chosen because it is simple to start with, and it is. The trouble appears a few years later. Important files sit in the personal My Drive of a founder or a staff member who has since left. Two-step verification was never made compulsory. Anyone can share a document publicly with a link, and the admin console has been visited perhaps twice. None of this is Google's fault; the settings exist but nobody has had time to look at them.

We start with a review of your Workspace admin console and turn the defaults into deliberate choices. That usually means enforcing two-step verification, limiting public sharing, moving business files into shared drives owned by the organisation, setting up email authentication for your domain and deciding what happens to accounts when people leave. We also check which third-party apps staff have connected to their Google accounts, because some request far more access than they need.

Some businesses decide to change platform, usually because a key piece of software works better with one or because they want everything in a single admin system. Moves between Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 can be done in either direction without losing mail, calendars or files. We run them in stages, copy history in the background while people keep working and switch mail over after hours, with a written plan and a quote before anything starts.

What's included

Admin console review

A written check of your Workspace security and sharing settings, with each recommended change explained in plain terms.

Two-step verification

Two-step verification enforced for every account, with security keys or passkeys for admins and staff who handle money.

Shared drives

Business files moved out of personal drives into shared drives owned by the organisation, organised by team or client.

Sharing controls

Rules for sharing outside the business, including warnings, limits on public links and approved partner domains.

Email authentication

Day-to-day support

Help with Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet and Chat, including shared mailboxes, delegated access and mobile setup.

Platform migrations

Planned moves to or from Microsoft 365, with mail, calendars, contacts and files copied across and checked.

Google Workspace setup, support & migration questions

Do you only support Microsoft 365?

No. We support Google Workspace businesses on the same plans as Microsoft 365 ones. The tools differ, but the work of securing accounts, organising files and helping staff is the same.

Should we switch from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365?

Only if there is a clear reason, such as software that needs Microsoft, a need for desktop Office apps or device management you can't get otherwise. We set out the costs and trade-offs and will say so plainly when staying put is the better choice.

What happens to files when someone leaves?

Files in a personal My Drive belong to that account. Before removing it, we transfer ownership to a manager or move the files into a shared drive, so nothing important disappears with the account.

How long does a migration take?

For a small office, mail and file history copy in the background over a week or two, and the final mail switch is done after hours. The exact timeline depends on data volumes and is set out in the written quote.

Which Google Workspace edition do we need?

It depends on storage, security and record-keeping needs. Higher editions add features such as long-term mail retention and stronger device controls. We review how you work and suggest the edition that fits.

Can you secure phones that use Gmail?

Yes. Workspace includes mobile management that can require a screen lock, separate work data and remove company accounts from a lost device. More advanced controls depend on your edition.

What does Google Workspace support cost?

Support is included in our per-user plans from $69 per user per month plus GST. A migration or admin review on its own is quoted in writing first.
