Microsoft 365 for Albany businesses

Albany is a large commercial hub with business parks off Oteha Valley Road and the Albany Expressway, a major retail centre, Massey University's Auckland campus and a growing mix of technology, engineering, health and distribution companies. Many firms moved here for newer buildings and motorway access.

Newer Albany buildings usually have good fibre and structured cabling, so the work tends to be about the layers on top: firewall management, Wi-Fi capacity for busy open-plan floors, meeting rooms, device management and security reporting that clients and insurers now ask for. Growing companies also need onboarding and offboarding that keeps up with hiring.

Microsoft 365 is where most offices now keep their email, files and calendars. It is powerful, but the defaults leave plenty to be desired: shared files end up in one person's OneDrive, leavers' mailboxes disappear, and security features you are already paying for sit switched off.

Technicians come to Albany offices for rollouts, network and meeting room work, and support teams remotely for everyday issues. Larger projects are planned and quoted in writing.

What's included

Licence advice

Basic, Standard or Premium? We match licences to how each person works, so you don't pay for features nobody uses.

Backup

Daily backup of mail, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, because Microsoft's own retention is not a backup.

Ongoing admin

Starters, leavers, shared mailboxes, distribution lists and licence changes handled as you need them.

Copilot readiness

Before you add Microsoft Copilot, we check who can see what, so it can't surface files people shouldn't read.

Email migration

Mail, calendars and contacts moved from your old system with no gap in delivery.

File migration

Shared drives and old servers moved into SharePoint and Teams, with permissions that make sense.

Everything about Microsoft 365

Is it right for your Albany office?

We can help if:

  • You are still on an old email server or a hosting company's mail
  • Company files live on one person's laptop or OneDrive
  • You are paying for licences you don't understand
  • You are moving from Google Workspace
  • You want to use Copilot but aren't sure your data is ready

Microsoft 365 in Albany: questions

Our cyber insurer wants to know what security we have. Can you help?

Yes. We put in place the controls insurers commonly ask about, such as multi-factor sign-in, endpoint protection, backups and patching, and document them so you can answer the questionnaire accurately. We don't claim controls you don't have.

We're hiring quickly. How do you handle new starters?

We set up a standard new starter process: accounts, licences, a configured laptop and access to the right files, ready on day one. Leavers are removed promptly the same way, so access never lingers.

Can you buy the licences for us?

Yes, or you can keep buying them yourself. Either way we manage them and make sure you aren't paying for unused seats.

Is Microsoft 365 backed up already?

Microsoft keeps deleted items for a limited time. That is not a backup. A separate backup protects you from accidental deletion, ransomware and departing staff.

Which Microsoft 365 plan do we need?

Most offices need Business Standard for the desktop apps and Teams, or Business Premium if they want stronger security and device management. Frontline and Basic suit staff who only need email.

How long does a migration take?

A small office usually moves over a few days with the switch done in one evening. Larger file migrations are planned in stages.
