Co-managed IT in Auckland CBD

Your IT person knows your business better than any outside provider ever will. Co-managed IT gives them a team to lean on: proper tools, security and backup monitoring, help with the hard problems and cover when they are on leave, without replacing them.

Onsite technicians cover Auckland CBD. Most problems are fixed remotely first; when a job needs hands, a technician comes to you.

Co-managed IT for Auckland CBD businesses

The city centre packs law firms, accountants, consultancies, recruiters and head offices into towers along Queen Street, Shortland Street and the Viaduct, with tech and creative firms clustered around Wynyard Quarter. Plenty of smaller teams rent serviced suites or a single floor in an older mid-rise block.

Most CBD offices sit inside a building they don't control: the landlord owns the risers and comms room, fibre comes in through a shared lead-in, and a dozen neighbouring tenants' Wi-Fi networks fight over the same channels. Fit-outs and floor changes are frequent, so cabling, switch cabinets and meeting room screens need planning around building management rules and after-hours access.

Co-managed IT splits the work in a way that suits you. Your person keeps the parts they are best at, usually the day-to-day relationships, business systems and local knowledge. We provide what is expensive or impractical for one person: monitoring and management tools, security and backup oversight, a help desk for overflow, and specialists for networks, servers and cloud projects. The mix can change as your business grows or your IT person's role shifts.

Our Auckland technicians work in central city offices regularly and sort building access, loading docks and lift bookings with your property manager ahead of planned work. Day-to-day requests are handled remotely first, with a visit booked when a problem needs hands.

What's included

Shared management tools

Your IT person gets access to our monitoring, patching, remote support and documentation tools rather than buying and maintaining their own.

Second-line escalation

Our technicians and specialists on hand for difficult network, server, Microsoft 365 or security problems.

Leave and sickness cover

We know your systems well enough to keep things running while your IT person takes a proper break.

Shared documentation

One set of up-to-date notes on your systems, so knowledge stays in the business if people change.

Security monitoring

Threat detection alerts, sign-in risks and email security watched by our team, with serious issues raised with your IT person straight away.

Help desk overflow

Staff requests passed to us during busy periods or projects, so your IT person can focus on the work that needs their knowledge.

Everything about Co-managed IT

Is it right for your Auckland CBD office?

Co-managed IT tends to suit businesses where:

  • One IT person looks after 20 to 75 staff on their own
  • Your IT person can't take leave without things piling up
  • Security and backups depend on one person remembering to check them
  • A big project is coming that needs more hands than you have
  • Your IT person wants better tools than the budget allows on its own

How getting started works

  1. Free IT health check. We look at your devices, accounts, backups and network and tell you what we find, in plain English.
  2. Clear proposal. A written monthly price per user and a list of any fixes, with nothing hidden.
  3. Handover. We collect admin access and documentation from your current provider and keep your team working.
  4. Day-one fixes. Security gaps, failed backups and urgent risks are dealt with first.

Co-managed IT in Auckland CBD: questions

Can you work with our building's landlord and comms room rules?

Yes. Before any cabling or equipment work we check the building's rules for the shared comms room and risers, request access through the property manager and keep a record of what was installed where. That keeps you on good terms with the landlord when the lease ends.

Our Wi-Fi is slow because every floor has its own network. What can be done?

Crowded city buildings usually need a proper Wi-Fi survey, access points on less congested channels and the right number of access points for your floor rather than one powerful router. We measure first, then quote the fix in writing.

Will this replace our IT person?

No. The point is to support them, not replace them. Your IT person stays in charge of your systems and their relationships with staff; we add tools, depth and cover around them.

Who decides who does what?

We agree a written responsibility list with your IT person and management at the start, covering support, security, backups, projects and vendors. It is reviewed as needs change.

How is co-managed IT priced?

It is usually based on our per-user plans, $69, $119 or $169 per user per month plus GST, adjusted for the work your IT person keeps. We set out the agreed price in writing first.

Does our IT person keep admin access?

Yes. They keep full access and can see every ticket, alert and change we make. We work in the same documentation, so nothing is hidden.
