Office moves & fit-outs in Auckland CBD
The furniture is the easy part of moving offices. The internet connection that takes weeks to install, the cabling that has to go in before the ceiling closes and the network that must work at nine on Monday are where moves go wrong. We plan the IT side from the first floor plan to day one.
Onsite technicians cover Auckland CBD. Most problems are fixed remotely first; when a job needs hands, a technician comes to you.
Office moves & fit-outs for Auckland CBD businesses
The city centre packs law firms, accountants, consultancies, recruiters and head offices into towers along Queen Street, Shortland Street and the Viaduct, with tech and creative firms clustered around Wynyard Quarter. Plenty of smaller teams rent serviced suites or a single floor in an older mid-rise block.
Most CBD offices sit inside a building they don't control: the landlord owns the risers and comms room, fibre comes in through a shared lead-in, and a dozen neighbouring tenants' Wi-Fi networks fight over the same channels. Fit-outs and floor changes are frequent, so cabling, switch cabinets and meeting room screens need planning around building management rules and after-hours access.
Then we run the move itself. Equipment is labelled and shut down cleanly, the network is built and tested at the new site before staff arrive, and on the first morning a technician is there walking the floor, checking every desk, printer and meeting room. The whole project is quoted in writing first. A week later we check in again to tidy loose ends, update your network documentation with the new layout and make sure the old premises have been fully cleared of equipment and data.
Our Auckland technicians work in central city offices regularly and sort building access, loading docks and lift bookings with your property manager ahead of planned work. Day-to-day requests are handled remotely first, with a visit booked when a problem needs hands.
What's included
Building check
Before you sign, we check internet availability, existing cabling, the comms cupboard and phone and mobile coverage at the new address.
Old site clear-out
Equipment removed from the old office, data wiped from anything left behind and internet services cancelled on the right date.
Internet ordering
Fibre and a backup connection ordered early, with lead times tracked and chased so the line is live before move day.
Day-one support
A technician on site the first morning, checking every desk, meeting room, printer and phone and fixing problems as they appear.
Cabling and Wi-Fi design
Data points, access point positions and the comms cabinet marked on the floor plan, with a written specification for the cabling installer.
Builder and electrician coordination
We work with your fit-out team so data cabling, power for equipment and ceiling access happen in the right order.
Is it right for your Auckland CBD office?
Bring us in early if:
- You are choosing between buildings and want to know the internet options
- A fit-out is starting and the builder needs a cabling plan
- Your move date is fixed and the internet hasn't been ordered yet
- You are expanding into a second floor or another tenancy
- You want staff working normally on the first morning in the new office
How getting started works
- Free IT health check. We look at your devices, accounts, backups and network and tell you what we find, in plain English.
- Clear proposal. A written monthly price per user and a list of any fixes, with nothing hidden.
- Handover. We collect admin access and documentation from your current provider and keep your team working.
- Day-one fixes. Security gaps, failed backups and urgent risks are dealt with first.
Office moves & fit-outs in Auckland CBD: questions
Can you work with our building's landlord and comms room rules?
Yes. Before any cabling or equipment work we check the building's rules for the shared comms room and risers, request access through the property manager and keep a record of what was installed where. That keeps you on good terms with the landlord when the lease ends.
Our Wi-Fi is slow because every floor has its own network. What can be done?
Crowded city buildings usually need a proper Wi-Fi survey, access points on less congested channels and the right number of access points for your floor rather than one powerful router. We measure first, then quote the fix in writing.
Do you install the cabling?
We design the network cabling and Wi-Fi, specify it and manage the installer, or do smaller low-voltage cabling jobs ourselves. Power outlets and any mains wiring are done by a registered electrician.
Can we keep working during the move?
Most moves are done over a weekend or after hours. Email, Teams and cloud files keep working throughout, and the new office network is ready before staff arrive.
Do you help with a fit-out in a building we already occupy?
Yes. Refits, extra floors and reconfigured desks follow the same process, scheduled around your working hours.
How early should we involve you?
As early as possible, and at least two to three months before the move. Business fibre can take several weeks, longer where a new connection to the building is needed, and cabling has to be planned before walls and ceilings are closed.
