Managed IT in Kumeū
Hand your IT to a team that already knows your setup. One monthly price per person covers the help desk, security, updates, Microsoft 365 and backups, with technicians who come on site when a problem needs hands.
Onsite technicians cover Kumeū. Most problems are fixed remotely first; when a job needs hands, a technician comes to you.
Managed IT for Kumeū businesses
Kumeu and neighbouring Huapai are rural service towns in Auckland's northwest, with wineries, horticulture, lifestyle-block businesses, equestrian services, trade suppliers and a growing commercial strip along State Highway 16. Many businesses operate from farms, vineyards or home properties rather than office buildings.
Fibre reaches the townships but not every rural property, so connectivity is often the first problem to solve, using fixed wireless, mobile broadband with a proper antenna or satellite internet. Spread-out properties may also need Wi-Fi or wireless links reaching sheds, cellar doors or a separate office building.
Most offices with five to fifty staff don't have an IT person. Someone with a bit of know-how ends up resetting passwords, chasing the internet provider and wondering whether the backups actually ran. That works until the day it doesn't: a laptop gets ransomware, the shared drive fills up, or a new starter sits for two days without a login.
Our Auckland technicians make planned trips to Kumeu sites for connectivity, Wi-Fi and network installs, with ongoing support provided remotely. Rural jobs are surveyed and quoted in writing first.
What's included
Onsite technicians
When something needs hands - a dead switch, a new printer, a desk move - a technician comes to your office in Auckland or Hamilton.
Help desk
Staff email or log a request and get a technician, not a call centre. Most fixes happen remotely within the same session.
Planning
A regular review of what is ageing, what is at risk and what to budget for next year. No surprises in March.
Updates and patching
Windows, Mac and business apps updated on a schedule, with failures followed up rather than ignored.
Network and Wi-Fi
Firewall, switches and wireless monitored, so a failing device is replaced before it takes the office offline.
Security
Threat detection on every computer, email filtering, multi-factor sign-in and the settings that stop the common attacks.
Is it right for your Kumeū office?
Managed IT suits offices that rely on their computers every day but don't want to employ an IT person. It is usually a fit if:
- You have between 3 and 75 staff
- Nobody on the team owns IT, or the person who does has a different day job
- You have had a scare: lost files, a scam email, a long outage
- You want a fixed monthly IT cost instead of surprise bills
- Your insurer or a client is asking about your cyber security
How getting started works
- Free IT health check. We look at your devices, accounts, backups and network and tell you what we find, in plain English.
- Clear proposal. A written monthly price per user and a list of any fixes, with nothing hidden.
- Handover. We collect admin access and documentation from your current provider and keep your team working.
- Day-one fixes. Security gaps, failed backups and urgent risks are dealt with first.
Managed IT in Kumeū: questions
Can you install Starlink for a rural business near Kumeu?
Yes. We install Starlink and other connections, mount the dish properly and connect it to a business firewall and Wi-Fi so the whole property benefits. The installation is quoted after we check the site.
How do we get internet to a shed or cellar door away from the house?
A point-to-point wireless link or an outdoor-rated cable run usually does it, depending on the distance and line of sight. We look at the site and quote the most practical low-voltage option.
How much does managed IT cost?
Our plans are $69, $119 and $169 per user per month plus GST. A user is one person; their computer and phone are included. We recommend the $119 Managed plan for most offices. The full breakdown is on the pricing page.
How quickly do you respond?
Requests are picked up during business hours in the order of urgency. Anything stopping work, such as no internet or a locked-out account, goes to the front of the queue.
What is not included?
Hardware, software licences and projects such as an office move, new server or full cabling job. Those are quoted in writing first, with no surprise invoices.
How do we switch from our current provider?
We arrange the handover. We collect admin access and documentation, check backups and security on day one and tell you what we found. Your team keeps working while we take over.
