We still have an old server in the office. Do we need to replace it?
Not necessarily with another server. Many small practices are better served by moving files and email to Microsoft 365 and retiring the server. We look at what it actually runs, then recommend and quote the simplest option.
How do we know our backups would actually work?
Only a test restore proves it. As part of managed IT we monitor backups and regularly restore sample files to check they come back intact, and we tell you if anything fails.
What if the internet isn't ready in time?
We plan a fallback, usually a temporary wireless or mobile broadband connection, so the office can open even if the fibre install slips.
Should we buy new equipment for the move?
A move is a good time to replace ageing switches, Wi-Fi or a tired server, because the work is happening anyway. We'll tell you what is worth moving and what isn't.
How early should we involve you?
As early as possible, and at least two to three months before the move. Business fibre can take several weeks, longer where a new connection to the building is needed, and cabling has to be planned before walls and ceilings are closed.
Do you install the cabling?
We design the network cabling and Wi-Fi, specify it and manage the installer, or do smaller low-voltage cabling jobs ourselves. Power outlets and any mains wiring are done by a registered electrician.
