CCTV & access control in Remuera

Cameras and door readers are network devices now, and they need the same care as the rest of your IT. We plan, install and manage office CCTV and access control on low-voltage cabling, kept secure, kept updated and simple for your team to use.

Onsite technicians cover Remuera. Most problems are fixed remotely first; when a job needs hands, a technician comes to you.

CCTV & access control for Remuera businesses

Remuera Road's village centres host financial advisers, lawyers, real estate agencies, dental and medical rooms and boutique retail, with a strong base of owner-run professional practices. Many firms have long-standing clients and small, stable teams.

Practices that have been in place a while often carry ageing equipment: an old server in a cupboard, a backup drive nobody checks and email set up years ago by a family member. Client confidentiality is central to these businesses, so modernising usually means moving files to secure cloud storage, adding multi-factor sign-in and replacing the backup with one that is monitored.

Our work is low-voltage only: network cabling, Power over Ethernet devices, recorders and door controllers. Where a new power circuit, mains connection or an electric lock that needs mains wiring is required, a registered electrician does that part and we coordinate it. Every installation is quoted in writing first. The quote lists each camera and door, the cabling route, storage, the electrician's portion where one is needed and the ongoing care, so you can see exactly what you are paying for and how it will be looked after once it is running.

Remuera offices are visited by our Auckland technicians for upgrades, migrations and faults, and staff get remote help for everyday issues. Bigger changes are planned and quoted in writing first.

What's included

Site walk-through

We look at entrances, reception, server cupboard and car park with you and agree what each camera needs to see before anything is priced.

Door access control

Card, fob or phone-based entry for front doors and internal rooms, with schedules so doors lock outside business hours.

Separate camera network

Cameras and controllers kept apart from your computers, so a weak camera can't be used as a way into your files.

Recording and storage

A recorder or cloud service sized for the number of days you need to keep, with clear settings for how long footage is held.

Network cameras

Business-grade IP cameras powered over the network cable, positioned for useful images rather than blank walls, with night performance checked.

Starters and leavers

Access cards issued and cancelled as part of your normal staff changes, with a record of who holds what.

Everything about CCTV & access control

Is it right for your Remuera office?

This is a good fit for offices that:

  • Share a building or have a reception area open to the public
  • Still use physical keys and aren't sure how many copies exist
  • Have a camera system nobody knows how to access or update
  • Need a record of who entered a room holding stock, files or servers
  • Are moving into a new office and want security planned with the network

How getting started works

  1. Free IT health check. We look at your devices, accounts, backups and network and tell you what we find, in plain English.
  2. Clear proposal. A written monthly price per user and a list of any fixes, with nothing hidden.
  3. Handover. We collect admin access and documentation from your current provider and keep your team working.
  4. Day-one fixes. Security gaps, failed backups and urgent risks are dealt with first.

CCTV & access control in Remuera: questions

We still have an old server in the office. Do we need to replace it?

Not necessarily with another server. Many small practices are better served by moving files and email to Microsoft 365 and retiring the server. We look at what it actually runs, then recommend and quote the simplest option.

How do we know our backups would actually work?

Only a test restore proves it. As part of managed IT we monitor backups and regularly restore sample files to check they come back intact, and we tell you if anything fails.

What does CCTV cost for a small office?

It depends on the number of cameras, cabling distances, storage and whether you add door access. We visit, agree what is needed and send a written quote before any work starts.

Do you do the electrical work?

No. We only do low-voltage work such as network cabling, PoE cameras and door controllers. Anything involving mains power, new circuits or mains-wired locks is done by a registered electrician, and we coordinate with them so it fits the plan.

Can we open the door from a phone?

Many access systems support phone-based entry and remote unlocking. We will explain the options and the security trade-offs before you choose.

How long is footage kept?

Typically between two and four weeks, depending on how many cameras you have and how much storage you buy. We help you choose a period that suits your needs and your privacy obligations.
