Office moves & fit-outs in Birkenhead & Northcote
The furniture is the easy part of moving offices. The internet connection that takes weeks to install, the cabling that has to go in before the ceiling closes and the network that must work at nine on Monday are where moves go wrong. We plan the IT side from the first floor plan to day one.
Onsite technicians cover Birkenhead & Northcote. Most problems are fixed remotely first; when a job needs hands, a technician comes to you.
Office moves & fit-outs for Birkenhead & Northcote businesses
Birkenhead's Highbury centre and Northcote's town centre, now being redeveloped, serve small professional offices, health practices, cafes and retailers, with many consultants, designers and tradespeople working from home in the surrounding streets. The harbour bridge puts the city close, but plenty of locals prefer to work near home.
Home-based and small-office businesses here often rely on a single person's laptop and a consumer internet plan, with no backup and little security. Bringing them up to standard is straightforward: business email with multi-factor sign-in, automatic backups, a managed antivirus and a sensible home office network that keeps work devices apart from family ones.
Office moves tend to surprise people in the same few ways. Fibre for the new building is ordered a fortnight before the move and turns out to need a new lead-in from the street. The fit-out builder runs data cables to the wrong desks, or not at all to the meeting rooms. The comms cupboard has no ventilation. And on Monday morning nobody can print because the copier still points at the old network.
Our technicians visit Birkenhead and Northcote offices and home offices for setups and hardware work, and help remotely day to day. We are glad to support small teams of three or more.
What's included
Building check
Before you sign, we check internet availability, existing cabling, the comms cupboard and phone and mobile coverage at the new address.
Internet ordering
Fibre and a backup connection ordered early, with lead times tracked and chased so the line is live before move day.
Network build
Firewall, switches and Wi-Fi installed and tested at the new site before any staff arrive.
Day-one support
A technician on site the first morning, checking every desk, meeting room, printer and phone and fixing problems as they appear.
Cabling and Wi-Fi design
Data points, access point positions and the comms cabinet marked on the floor plan, with a written specification for the cabling installer.
Old site clear-out
Equipment removed from the old office, data wiped from anything left behind and internet services cancelled on the right date.
Is it right for your Birkenhead & Northcote office?
Bring us in early if:
- You are choosing between buildings and want to know the internet options
- A fit-out is starting and the builder needs a cabling plan
- Your move date is fixed and the internet hasn't been ordered yet
- You are expanding into a second floor or another tenancy
- You want staff working normally on the first morning in the new office
How getting started works
- Free IT health check. We look at your devices, accounts, backups and network and tell you what we find, in plain English.
- Clear proposal. A written monthly price per user and a list of any fixes, with nothing hidden.
- Handover. We collect admin access and documentation from your current provider and keep your team working.
- Day-one fixes. Security gaps, failed backups and urgent risks are dealt with first.
Office moves & fit-outs in Birkenhead & Northcote: questions
Do you support businesses run from home offices?
Yes, provided you have three or more staff or need business-grade setup. We manage the work devices, secure email and backups, and can set up a home network that keeps work and family devices separate.
What happens to our IT during the Northcote redevelopment?
If you are relocating or your building is being upgraded, we can plan the move, arrange the new internet connection early and set up the new premises so you are working from the first morning. It is quoted in writing first.
Should we buy new equipment for the move?
A move is a good time to replace ageing switches, Wi-Fi or a tired server, because the work is happening anyway. We'll tell you what is worth moving and what isn't.
How much does an office move cost?
It depends on the number of staff, the state of the new building and how much equipment is moving. After a site visit we send a written quote that lists each stage, so there are no surprises.
What if the internet isn't ready in time?
We plan a fallback, usually a temporary wireless or mobile broadband connection, so the office can open even if the fibre install slips.
How early should we involve you?
As early as possible, and at least two to three months before the move. Business fibre can take several weeks, longer where a new connection to the building is needed, and cabling has to be planned before walls and ceilings are closed.
