CCTV & access control in Silverdale
Cameras and door readers are network devices now, and they need the same care as the rest of your IT. We plan, install and manage office CCTV and access control on low-voltage cabling, kept secure, kept updated and simple for your team to use.
Onsite technicians cover Silverdale. Most problems are fixed remotely first; when a job needs hands, a technician comes to you.
CCTV & access control for Silverdale businesses
Silverdale has grown quickly beside State Highway 1 at the start of the Hibiscus Coast, with new business parks, trade suppliers, storage and logistics, a retail centre and medical services serving the Millwater and Orewa growth areas. Many buildings are recent and occupied by businesses that relocated north.
New commercial buildings usually come with fibre and a blank comms room, which is the ideal time to plan cabling, firewall, Wi-Fi and CCTV properly rather than adding them piecemeal. Businesses relocating here also need their internet ordered early, because a new connection can take a while to activate in a just-finished building.
We treat cameras and door controllers as part of your IT. They go on their own network segment, use strong unique passwords, receive firmware updates and are included in your documentation. Viewing works from approved phones and computers without exposing the recorder to the internet. When someone leaves, removing their door access becomes part of the same leaver checklist as disabling their email. Footage and entry logs are easy to find when you need them, and only the people you choose can see them.
Our Auckland technicians travel to Silverdale for fit-outs, network installs and ongoing onsite work, with everyday support provided remotely. New premises setups are planned and quoted in writing.
What's included
Site walk-through
We look at entrances, reception, server cupboard and car park with you and agree what each camera needs to see before anything is priced.
Separate camera network
Cameras and controllers kept apart from your computers, so a weak camera can't be used as a way into your files.
Network cameras
Business-grade IP cameras powered over the network cable, positioned for useful images rather than blank walls, with night performance checked.
Door access control
Card, fob or phone-based entry for front doors and internal rooms, with schedules so doors lock outside business hours.
Recording and storage
A recorder or cloud service sized for the number of days you need to keep, with clear settings for how long footage is held.
Secure remote viewing
Footage available on approved phones and computers through the vendor's secure app, without opening ports on your router.
Is it right for your Silverdale office?
This is a good fit for offices that:
- Share a building or have a reception area open to the public
- Still use physical keys and aren't sure how many copies exist
- Have a camera system nobody knows how to access or update
- Need a record of who entered a room holding stock, files or servers
- Are moving into a new office and want security planned with the network
How getting started works
- Free IT health check. We look at your devices, accounts, backups and network and tell you what we find, in plain English.
- Clear proposal. A written monthly price per user and a list of any fixes, with nothing hidden.
- Handover. We collect admin access and documentation from your current provider and keep your team working.
- Day-one fixes. Security gaps, failed backups and urgent risks are dealt with first.
CCTV & access control in Silverdale: questions
We're fitting out a new building in Silverdale. When should IT be involved?
Before the walls are lined. We can specify data points, the comms cabinet, Wi-Fi locations and CCTV positions so the cabling goes in once. Our design and installation are quoted in writing.
How early should we order internet for a new building?
As soon as you have an address and a move date. New connections can take several weeks, so we order early and arrange a temporary mobile connection if fibre is not ready in time.
Can we open the door from a phone?
Many access systems support phone-based entry and remote unlocking. We will explain the options and the security trade-offs before you choose.
Can you take over an existing system?
Often, yes. We check what is installed, change default passwords, update firmware and move it onto its own network. If the equipment is too old to secure, we tell you plainly.
Do you install in shared buildings?
Yes. We work with the building manager on cabling routes, the main entrance system and any rules about drilling or ceiling access.
Do you do the electrical work?
No. We only do low-voltage work such as network cabling, PoE cameras and door controllers. Anything involving mains power, new circuits or mains-wired locks is done by a registered electrician, and we coordinate with them so it fits the plan.
