IT support for construction and trade businesses
Your people spend more time on site than at a desk, but quotes, job cards, photos and invoices all depend on technology. We keep the office, the vans and the site connected and secure.

IT for construction & trades
Construction and trade businesses run on phones and tablets as much as on office computers. Job management apps hold the schedule, timesheets, photos and variations; plans and specifications arrive by email; and invoices go out from accounting software that the office manager watches closely. When a tradie can't open a job card on site, work slows down and details go missing. A missed variation photo or a timesheet that never synced can turn into a billing argument months later, long after the job is finished.
IT is usually nobody's job in a building or trade firm. The owner is on site, the office manager is busy with payroll and suppliers, and devices are bought as needed, often with a mix of personal and company phones. Over time that leaves passwords shared across the crew, old staff still in the job app and nobody sure who owns the Microsoft 365 admin account. When a phone with every job photo on it is lost or a former worker still has the supplier portal password, the gaps become expensive very quickly.
Office IT sets up a tidy, secure base for firms with three to seventy-five staff. We manage phones and tablets, keep job apps and accounting connected, get site offices online, and make the office reliable. Hardware is low-voltage only: we cable, connect and configure, and leave electrical work to registered electricians. We also keep the setup written down, so when the business grows or a new office manager starts, nobody has to work out from scratch how the systems hang together or who to call.
Common IT problems in this industry
Mobile teams and mixed devices
Crews use a mix of company and personal phones. Lost or broken devices, shared logins and leavers who keep access to job data are common.
Connectivity on site
Site offices and new builds often have no fixed line. Plans, photos and safety forms still need to upload from wherever the work is.
Job app and accounting links
Job management, timesheets and invoicing apps connect to Xero or MYOB. When those links or sign-ins break, invoices and wages are delayed.
Health and safety records
Site inductions, hazard registers and incident reports under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 increasingly live in apps and must be kept safely.
Large plan files
Drawings, PDFs and photo sets are large. Slow office internet or full phone storage makes sharing them painful.
Invoice fraud
Builders and subcontractors pay and receive large invoices. Fake emails changing a supplier's bank details are a costly and common scam.
What we set up for you
Managed phones and tablets
Company devices enrolled in device management, with apps installed, a lock screen required and the ability to wipe a lost phone remotely.
Site connectivity
4G/5G routers, satellite internet or temporary Wi-Fi for site offices, set up so plans and job photos sync without staff burning their own data.
One sign-in per person
Each worker gets their own login for email and job apps, with multi-factor sign-in, so a leaver can be removed in minutes.
Office network and storage
A reliable office network, printers and plan printers, and shared storage for drawings and job documents that syncs to the field.
Payment scam protection
Email filtering, warnings on external senders and a simple process for confirming any change of bank details before money moves.
Backups for job records
Microsoft 365 and key files backed up and checked, so photos, variations and safety records survive a deleted folder or stolen laptop.

Managed ITIT for construction & trades: questions
Can you manage phones that staff use on site?
Yes. Company phones and tablets are enrolled in device management so we can install apps, enforce a passcode, and wipe a lost device. For personal phones we can separate work apps and data so the business can remove its information without touching personal photos.
How do you get a site office online?
Usually with a 4G or 5G router, or satellite internet where mobile coverage is poor, plus a small Wi-Fi access point. We set it up, move it to the next site when needed and monitor it remotely.
Do you support job management apps like Fergus or Tradify?
We support the devices and accounts they run on, manage who has access, and help with the connections to your accounting software. Issues inside the app itself go to the vendor, and we can raise them for you.
Do you do electrical work on site?
No. We only do low-voltage work: data cabling, network and Wi-Fi equipment, cameras and computer setup. Anything involving mains power needs a registered electrician.
What happens when a worker leaves?
We disable their accounts, remove them from job apps, recover company devices and wipe them, and pass their email and files to the right person. It takes minutes when everyone has their own login.
Which plan suits a trade business?
Firms with mostly field staff often start on Essentials at $69 per user per month plus GST, while busier offices choose Managed at $119 for unlimited remote support and Microsoft 365 backup. We can help you decide which staff need full coverage.
