IT support for hotels and motels
Guests judge a stay on the Wi-Fi as much as the bed, and the front desk cannot check anyone in without the property management system. We keep both running and keep guest and card data secure.

IT for hotels & motels
Accommodation never really closes. Guests arrive late, leave early and expect fast Wi-Fi in every room, in the car park and by the pool. Behind the desk, the property management system holds reservations, guest details and room status, connects to booking channels and the door lock system, and passes charges to the card terminal. When any part of that chain fails, the night manager is left with a queue of tired guests and no easy way to check them in, and a bad night at the desk quickly turns into a bad online review.
Small hotels and motels also face the risks of any business that takes cards and personal details. Booking confirmations and channel manager notifications are copied by scammers, guest passports or licence copies sit in shared inboxes, and front desk computers are used by several staff on rotating shifts. Many properties have Wi-Fi installed years ago by whoever was available, with access points placed for convenience rather than coverage, and nobody has checked them since.
Office IT supports hotels, motels and serviced apartments with practical IT. We design and manage guest Wi-Fi properly, keep front desk computers and the property management system healthy, separate guest, staff and payment networks, and protect booking and guest data. Properties in Auckland and Hamilton get onsite visits, and properties elsewhere in New Zealand are supported remotely with onsite project work by arrangement. Changes are scheduled around occupancy, not the other way round.
Common IT problems in this industry
Wi-Fi in every room
Thick walls, long corridors and units spread across a site leave dead spots. Guests notice immediately and mention it in reviews.
The property management system
Reservations, room status, keys and billing all depend on it. A failed front desk computer or connection stops check-ins on the spot.
Card and guest data
Card details, passport copies and contact information pass through several systems. Each needs to be handled carefully and kept off shared desktops.
Booking scams
Fake booking platform messages and lookalike payment links trick both staff and guests into handing over card or login details.
Shift-based staff
Night auditors, housekeeping leads and front desk staff share computers. Generic logins make it impossible to see who did what.
Smart TVs and room devices
Televisions, phones and door lock controllers all connect to the network. Left on the guest Wi-Fi, they are exposed to anyone staying.
What we set up for you
Designed guest Wi-Fi
We survey the site, place access points where guests actually are and manage the system centrally, with a simple branded sign-in page.
Separated networks
Guest, staff, payment, door lock and room device traffic run on separate networks, so a guest cannot reach your systems.
Reliable front desk
Front desk computers are managed, updated outside busy times and backed up by a spare or quick-swap plan so check-ins continue.
Internet failover
A second connection, often 4G or 5G, takes over automatically when the main line drops, keeping bookings and card payments going.
Individual staff sign-in
Each staff member signs in as themselves, quickly, so shared computers remain practical and activity is traceable.
Email and booking protection
Filtering for spoofed booking messages and training for desk staff on how fake payment requests look.

IT supportIT for hotels & motels: questions
Can you fix Wi-Fi that drops out in some rooms?
Yes. We start with a survey to find where the signal fails, then plan access point positions and cabling to cover each room. Cabling is low-voltage data work; any new power outlets are done by a registered electrician. The plan is quoted in writing before work begins.
Do you support our property management system?
We look after the computers, network, internet and accounts the system relies on. When a fault is inside the software, we work with the vendor's support team on your behalf so desk staff are not left on hold.
Can guests and staff share one internet connection?
Yes, as long as the traffic is separated and prioritised. Payment and front desk traffic gets priority and guest Wi-Fi is isolated, so a guest streaming video does not slow card payments.
What happens if the internet goes down at night?
A backup mobile connection can take over automatically so card payments and bookings continue. Our help desk works business hours; after-hours cover can be arranged separately when a property needs it.
Do you look after motels outside Auckland and Hamilton?
Yes, with remote support for front desk computers, accounts and network devices. Wi-Fi installations outside those cities are planned onsite projects, arranged and quoted in advance.
Which plan suits a motel or small hotel?
Most properties cover office and front desk users on the Managed plan at $119 per user per month plus GST. Guest Wi-Fi management and equipment are quoted separately once we have surveyed the site.
