IT support for creative agencies

Designers, editors and marketers need fast Macs, shared storage that keeps up and internet that can push big files to clients. We look after the tools so the team can stay on the work.

IT for creative agencies

Creative agencies have different IT needs from a typical office. The team often works on Macs, files are large and constantly changing, and a single video project can fill a laptop's drive. Work moves between designers, editors, account managers and freelancers, and finished files have to reach clients and printers quickly, often late in the day before a deadline. Many agencies also rely on freelancers who bring their own machines, which makes it harder to keep client work on company storage.

Agencies also hold valuable assets that belong to other people: client logos and brand files, unreleased campaigns, photography under licence and the account logins for client social media and ad platforms. Losing those, or having one of those logins misused, is a serious problem for a client relationship. Clients increasingly ask agencies how their brand assets and account access are protected, and larger clients may want it in writing before work starts. Simple, sensible controls make those conversations easy instead of awkward.

Office IT supports design studios, marketing, digital, video and production agencies with three to seventy-five staff. We manage Macs properly, set up shared storage that suits big files, make sure your internet upload speed matches the work, protect client accounts and assets, and handle freelancers joining and leaving without passwords being passed around. Our technicians are comfortable with macOS as well as Windows, and we plan changes around production schedules so a deadline week is never the week a storage migration happens.

Common IT problems in this industry

Macs without management

Agencies often buy Macs one at a time with personal Apple IDs, so there is no central control, no encryption check and no clean handover when someone leaves.

Big files and shared storage

Video, photography and design files are too large to work well through basic cloud sync, and local copies multiply across machines.

Upload speed

Delivering renders and print files depends on upload speed, which many business connections underdeliver on.

Client accounts and logins

Agencies manage clients' social media, ad and website accounts. Shared passwords in spreadsheets are a real risk to those clients.

Freelancers and contractors

Freelancers need access to projects for a few weeks, then must lose it, along with any client logins they used.

Software licences and fonts

Creative software subscriptions and font licences must be assigned to the right people and tracked as the team changes.

What we set up for you

Managed Macs

Macs enrolled through Apple Business Manager and device management, encrypted, updated and ready to hand to a new person without a full rebuild.

Fast shared storage

A NAS on a fast wired network for active projects, with cloud sync or backup sized for big files and offsite copies for finished work.

Internet that matches the work

Fibre plans chosen for upload speed, with office networking that lets large files move at the speed you are paying for.

Password manager for client accounts

A business password manager so client logins are shared securely, access is removed when people leave and nobody pastes passwords into chat.

Freelancer access

Time-limited guest accounts and project folders for freelancers, removed when their engagement ends.

Licence management

Creative software seats tracked and reassigned promptly as staff and freelancers come and go.

Systems we support

We work with the software and equipment your business already relies on, and with your software vendors when something needs their help.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Figma for interface and design collaboration
  • Video editing tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve
  • Large file transfer services for client delivery

IT for creative agencies: questions

Do you support Macs?

Yes. We support macOS as well as Windows, and we recommend enrolling Macs through Apple Business Manager so they are owned by the business, encrypted and easy to reassign. Existing Macs can be brought under management without starting from scratch.

What storage works best for video and design files?

For active projects, a NAS on a fast wired network usually beats working directly from cloud sync. We pair it with cloud or offsite backup so finished work and archives are protected.

Our upload speed is slow. Can you help?

Yes. We check what your fibre plan delivers, whether the router or Wi-Fi is the bottleneck, and whether a higher upload plan or a cabled connection for heavy users would help. We can manage the change of plan with your provider.

How should we share client social media and ad logins?

Through a business password manager with shared vaults per client, and multi-factor sign-in wherever the platform allows. Access can be removed in one step when someone leaves, without changing every password.

How do you handle freelancers?

We create time-limited accounts with access only to their project folders and the tools they need, then close them on the agreed end date. Their work stays with the agency.

Which plan suits an agency?

Most agencies choose the Managed plan at $119 per user per month plus GST. Freelancers who only need email and file access can often be covered more simply, which we agree when we set up your account.
